According to alphatrending.com, Asante Kotoko, one of Ghana’s fiercest football teams, is currently in talks with former midfielder Abdul Fatawu Safiu, examining the possibility of his comeback and pledging to complete the agreement before the end of the second transfer window.
The 29-year-old, who first joined the Porcupine Warriors in 2018, was a vital member of coach CK Akonnor’s team and helped them advance to the lucrative CAF Confederations Cup stages in 2019.
Abdul Fatawu Safiu moved to Sweden after that season, where he played for Trelleborgs FF for two years before having a brief spell at Trollhättan. His performances were consistently impressive. Safiu was with Iraq’s top-tier Al Sinaa SC team, but since the 2023–24 football season began, he has not been with a club.
According to reports, the talented midfield player and the Reds are reportedly in advanced talks, and if they can reach a consensus, a reunion appears likely.
Furthermore, Kotoko is aggressively pursuing the signing of Nsoatreman FC right-back Emmanuel Kotei, hoping to complete the deal before the start of the second round.
