According to local media, Hearts of Oak is in discussions to select Rene Hiddink as their next Technical Director.
Following the mutual departure of David Ocloo, the Ghana Premier League squad is without a significant technical staff.
Hiddink is slated to take over the club as the new technical director as part of the club’s strategy to bolster their team ahead of the upcoming season.
Hiddink, a retired football player, has extensive experience coaching teams in the Netherlands, Rwanda, Madagascar, and the Maldives. He previously worked as the assistant coach for the Maldives national team.
Laryea Kingston, an assistant coach with Ghana’s U-17 team, Black Starlets, is reportedly in line to become the Phobian Club’s next head coach.
Once more, Fatau Dauda, a former goalkeeper for Legon Cities and the Black Stars, will join the team as the new goalkeepers’ trainer.
Dauda, who is now the Ghana U-20 goalie trainer, will bring important experience to the team’s technical staff.
In September 2023–2024, the Ghana Premier League will begin. Hearts of Oak, who placed 12th overall with 47 points, will try to get better.
