Brazilian midfielder Fabio Gama recalls his favorite goal during his time playing for Asante Kotoko against Ashantigold in the Ghana Premier League with great affection.
On matchday 28 of the 2020–21 season, Gama’s first-half header against Ashantigold was crucial in the Ashanti Derby, giving Kotoko the advantage over the Miners.
The strike, his third of the campaign, was essential in helping Kotoko win the Ghana Premier League for the 25th time.
The 30-year-old midfielder made 48 appearances for the Ghanaian powerhouses and left a significant impression on the team during his time there.
Gama received praise from both supporters and teammates for his exceptional play, which notably aided Asante Kotoko’s triumph in the league.
Gama recently discussed his favorite memory from his time playing in the Ghana Premier League with Ghanasportspage.com, highlighting the goal he scored against Ashantigold.
He replied, “I think the goal I scored against Ashanti Gold with my head,” when asked to consider the significance of that particular occasion. It was a pretty unique goal. For me, it is a special goal because it came at a good time and helped the club take the lead in the league standings.
