Kabiru Imoro, a former Kotoko striker, passed away after fainting during a community match.

The death of former Kumasi Asante Kotoko striker Kabiru Moro, who unfortunately passed away in his hometown of Akwatia in the Eastern Region, has plunged the Ghanaian football world into a state of sadness.

On Tuesday, July 18, 2023, the 35-year-old passed out during a community football game and couldn’t be revived. Saddick Adams, a sports writer, tweeted the tragic news that Kabiru Moro had died after falling during a neighborhood soccer competition close to his home.

A family member, Hashmiu Moro, verified the horrific occurrence.

Kabiru Moro, a former striker for Asante Kotoko, Medeama SC, and RTU, passed away this evening in his hometown of Akwatia.

Saddick Adams posted on Twitter that “his family member Hashmiu Moro confirmed on Angel Sports Kabiru collapsed while playing community football close to his house.”

Kabiru Moro, who was born on February 15, 1988, had a standout career in the Ghana Premier League.

During periods with a number of illustrious Ghanaian clubs, including Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Medeama SC, and Real Tamale United (RTU), he showed his talent in scoring goals.
