Michael Bolton, a singer from the United States, says he is recovering from surgery to remove a brain tumor.
The 70-year-old actor revealed on Instagram that he was diagnosed with cancer late last year and required immediate surgery.
“The surgery was a success, thanks to my incredible medical team,” he said. I am now recuperating at home, surrounded by my family’s incredible love and support.”
Bolton has announced a “temporary break” from touring.
He had planned to go on tour in February, with stops in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Switzerland.
“It is always the hardest thing for me to ever disappoint my fans or postpone a show, but have no doubt I am working hard to accelerate my recovery and get back to performing soon,” the singer wrote in a message to fans.
“I am eternally grateful for all of the love and support you have shown me over the years.” Know that I’m holding your encouraging messages close to my heart, and I’ll keep you updated as soon as I can.”
Michael Bolton is best known for hits such as How Am I Supposed to Live Without You, When a Man Loves a Woman, and Said I Loved You… But I Lied. He has sold over 75 million records.
He has also appeared in television shows such as The Nanny, Glee, and Awkwafina is Nora from Queens. Last year, he competed on the American version of the TV celebrity talent show The Masked Singer.
